Changing your life for the better is about trying new things and embracing new opportunities. Don’t believe the myth that weight loss needs to boring and restrictive. Establishing fitness goals is all about coming up with inventive ways to keep you motivated and on track. With your BodyMedia FIT, you already have the tools to monitor your success. But to keep yourself enjoying your new lifestyle, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and discover new ways to have fun with your fitness program.

1. Experiment in the Kitchen. Meals you cook at home will be healthier than anything you can buy because you control the portions and ingredients. Cooking can also be a great way to express yourself and try new things in the safety and comfort of your own home. So go to the grocery store and buy that weird vegetable, strange spice or other oddity and get out the cookbook. You are guaranteed to broaden your horizons and maybe even find your next favorite dish!

2. Keep Your Exercise Program Fresh. There is no rule that says you have to do one exercise and one exercise only for the rest of your life. Or even the rest of the week! Shake things up. If you are a runner, try weight-lifting one week. If you are a boxing enthusiast, why not get in the pool once in a while. And if you don’t like biking or running or SCUBA diving, just try something else. By expanding your exercise repertoire, you engage more muscle groups in different ways allowing you to discover a whole new level of fitness. Plus, you’ll never get bored!

3. Get Fit for a Cause. If you are motivated by helping others, signing up for a charity 5K or a pound-for-pound challenge might be a good way to keep you engaged in your fitness regimen.

4. Find a Friend. If you have trouble keeping in touch with your loved ones, why not invite them out on your next hike? Get reacquainted by taking that exercise class together or reconnect by meeting up at the tennis court. Exercise is more fun when you have a buddy. And if you want to expand your social network, why not join an online exercise or fitness forum and meet new people who are on the same adventure as yourself.
